Fall is here! YAY! I LOVE this time of year. Lots of holidays and time with family!
Chad and I went to a Halloween party the Saturday before Halloween and Rex had a sleep over with Grandma Sharon. It was fun and Rex seemed to be a happy camper so I guess he enjoyed his time away :)
On Halloween we decided we would take him Trick or Treating for the 1st time. He usually goes to bed pretty early so being taken in and out of the car and having something on his head didn't really make him very happy. But he did love the attention! We just took him to both grandparents house, then to a coworkers house cuz we had promised to stop by and then to Juan and Carries since they only live one block away. He looked SO cute in his little monkey outfit. He carried his little pumpkin with him and put the candy inside of it. We let him try a bit of the candies, he likes chocolate :) One of our coworkers bought him in a bag of treats including a little book and even a Thomas the Tank pillowpet thing. Its really cute and that was so sweet of her. If Rex had been more interested in the trick or treating stuff we would have stopped by her place the day of.
My parents celebrated their anniversary on Nov 2nd. My mom cooked a big meal and had us and Chads parents over. It was nice.
We've decided to move to a smaller/cheaper place so we can save money and pay off our debt. So we had our 1st garage sale last weekend. It was interesting... we got rid of a lot of things and made some money so it was successful. Less things to move! YAY! We will be getting our keys Dec 15th. But we still have the current place until the 31st so we will have time to move and clean and whatnot. It's not ideal timing because of the holidays but it'll be ok. We plan on having Christmas at my parents so we don't have to deal with trying to put up a tree during our move.
This weekend I am going to take my mom and Rex to visit some family in California. Hopefully I will have some photos when I get back! Speaking of photos, we really need to get some new professional ones done for Rex. We are really slacking on that. But really, it's expensive!

9th Wedding Anniversary
Chad and I decided to take a little getaway to Vegas for our anniversary. It was really nice to just spend some time together. We stayed at Palms Place which was pretty cool but didn't really live up to all the hype. But it was pretty nice and Chad felt the need to watch both TV's at the same time, he's pretty funny!
We ate at a place called Addiction, it was a really cool little place inside the Rumor hotel. Now I keep craving the dang fried nutter-butters (yeah I know it sounds weird but really! They are so yummmmyy!!)
I also got a tattoo - I had been wanting one for a really long time and finally just did it. It was kind of selfish of me to do on our anniversary and I feel bad about that but I think it turned out beautiful and it's very meaningful to me.
We got to see some good friends and we even hung out at the pool for a little bit. It was nice to get away from everything for a couple days. But it was wonderful to come home to our little dude!! We really missed him. I doubt he missed us, he was just hanging out with his Grandma and Grandpa B!
I know I've said this before - but I'm really grateful to have Chad. He puts up with so much from me. We've been through a lot and we share the best thing that's ever happened in our lives, Jadon. He is a wonderful daddy and I feel very blessed to have this life.
Happy anniversary babe! Love you!

Happy Birthday Baby Cakes!
Rex and I were lucky enough to make it to Kelsey aka Baby Cakes 1st birthday. It really meant a lot to me to be able to make it. I've missed so many important days with Ivy that I knew I had to be there!
Ivy and I decorated the back yard. Ivy had picked out great decorations and even framed pictures for each table. LeeAnn aka Honey and Amanda did an AMAZING job making the cakes and cupcakes and all the food.
Cake dug right into her big cupcake! She knew exactly what to do with it. It was so cute! She's a hoot - I love that kid. She and Rex get along very well and it's so fun to watch them interact. It really sucks to live so far away. But I'm glad we get to see them when we can. She got a little ride around toy and we got Rex to push her through the house, it was adorable!
While we were in SLC Ivy and I took Rex to get his 1st "real" haircut. They have a place up there called Cookie Cutters and they only cut kids hair so they know what they are doing. He needed a nap so he was good the 1st few min and then he started to get a bit cranky. But his hair turned out very cute!

Happy 1st Birthday!!!
Wow what a great year! It's truly amazing how much our little baby has grown and learned this year. Time just goes so fast though. Sometimes it's hard to remember when he was so small and cuddly.
We are so grateful to have such a wonderful little person in our lives. He's so happy and giggly all the time. He always has a smile for everyone even strangers that just say hello. He really can brighten a room and lift people spirits even in the hardest of times with his joyful personality. I'm filled with overwhelming emotions when I think of just how great it is to have Jadon in my life - I am so happy I am his mommy.
Really I don't know what to say. It's hard for me to put into words how I feel about my boy. All I can really say is he fills my heart and he's absolutely amazing. I look forward to the years to come and watching him grow and learn even more.
Cheers to you my not so little baby boy!
As a memory for you Jadon- we had your grandparents over for dinner on your actual birthday. We all ate pasta and peas and garlic bread. And then you got to play with a cake grandma and grandpa Brogan got for you. You didn't really enjoy eating it very much and were a bit apprehensive about it. But eventually you dug into it and smashed it all over. It was pretty funny! It's very nice to have your grandparents so close. You really get excited when you see them and enjoy spending time with them!
We love you "Rex" - you're the best little boy! Happy 1st birthday!

Party time!!
Woohoo!! The party day finally arrived!
What a great weekend, wow! I feel so blessed to have the life we have. It truly is wonderful. Becky and Bryce came down Friday evening. Ivy, Jeff and The Cake made it Saturday morning. It's overwhelming feeling to know that people care so much about Rex to make sure they were able to come to his very special day. Even if that means renting a car or leaving the house before the sun is up after working a 12 hour shift.
We had invited a lot of people, a few couldn't make it for various reasons but that's ok. Rex had a great time playing with his grandparents and all of the other kids there. He loved the attention and was a good boy the whole time. We bought a play tent with a ball pit thing in it. That was a big hit for kids of all ages.
After everyone ate and played for a while we decided it was cake time. Everyone gathered around his highchair and sang him the birthday song. Then we let him loose on his cake... and then we waited... and waited... haha... he didn't want to dig into it. I gave him a few bites and he seemed to like it and he eventually piked at it a bit. Then he decided he was interested in the plate it was sitting on so he tipped it over and got the plate. Such a silly little guy.
We took his gifts home to open them. That seemed to work out very well since his attention span it's that long yet. On the way home he reached over to one of the gifts on the seat and tore up some tissue paper. He thought that was pretty great.
Anyhow, he got a lot of great things! I'm certain we will not have to buy him any clothes until he reaches 2T! He also got several fun toys and books. Ivy had a very special book made for him, it's all custom to him. It talks about how much we all love him. I look forward to reading it to him for years to come. It will always remind us of them and his 1st birthday.
After the party we got to hang out with everyone and it was nice to just relax and not be in a rush and let Rex & Cake play together. Sunday we all went to the pool. All the kids LOVE the water. I think that's Bryce's favorite part of coming down here. After the pool we went to a BBQ event that was going on. WOW it was super hot but it was kind of fun to go try the foods and get out of the house. All in all it was just a super nice weekend of spending time with people we love and celebrating our little dude!
*The photos are from my phone so I don't have a bunch of good ones of other people. But I wanted to add at least a few on here

Almost a year?!?!
Wow - in just a few weeks out baby Rex will be 1!! Wow time sure does fly. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful person in our lives. We're getting all the party plans going. The theme will be dino's :) It's going to be fun!
Well... lets see, time is kind of all mushed together lately. I posted a bit ago about his illness that we still don't know what it was. A couple weeks ago my mom, Rex and I went to Provo. We meet up with Georgia and Marissa to drop off lots of baby stuff for her soon to be born son! And then Ivy and Becky met up with us for brunch. It was really nice to see them as usual! Rex was trying to share his fruit with the cake. It was so funny and cute. I can't wait to see them play again next month!
We had a whole family 1st last weekend - we went camping! Our friend Gary went with us which was nice because he showed us some tips and whatnot. Rex LOVES the outdoors and did great on our little get away. We went up to Yankee Meadows Utah. It's near Brian Head so it's pretty high in the mountains which meant we were out of the heat and with the trees! Chad and Gary made fires, Chad cooked. We put up our tent. We got rained on and we got to see some cows really close. It was lovely and I can't wait to go again. We're hoping to get together with Ivy, Jeff and the cake for a camping weekend too. That would be really fun!

Baby Rex get's sick
So our baby had his 1st real sickness of his life...
All of us seemed to have caught a little cold after we got back from Colorado. So on a Monday we all didn't feel well but thought it would pass, well Tuesday we still felt pretty icky so we went to instacare here in town to make sure we didn't have anything bad. We were all told we had cold and it would just run it's course. So Chad and I ended up feeling better throughout the week and Rex was doing a lot better as well. Then on Friday he really didn't feel well when we got home from work, we thought it was just teething. By Saturday he had a fever of 103 so we decided we need to take him to be checked again. So we went to the instacare in St. George. He had a rash all over his little legs and his eyes were so red and he didn't want to eat anything. They checked him out and said it seemed that he had an ear infection. He was put on amoxicillin and we were told he should be feeling much better in a day or two. And we should give him ibuprofen and Tylenol to keep the fever down.
Monday came around and he still had a fever of over 100 but Chad and I went to work anyhow. My mom called and said he really wasn't feeling well and his rash was getting bad so we should take him up to see his normal doc. Luckily they were able to get us in that afternoon. Dr. Smith looked him over and said he didn't have an ear infection but might have adenovirus (sp?) so they stuck a cotton swab up his nose to run the tests. She said his throat was very, very red and that was probably causing him to not want to eat. She said we should stop giving him the Rx the other doc gave him and to just try to keep him hydrated and wait for the results to come back. Well we got the results back on Tuesday evening and they were neg. So we really don't know what was going on. However on Wednesday he started to feel better and started eating again! It was so great to have him feeling better... poor baby.
I will admit, it was nice to cuddle with my little guy though. Most of the time he is just wayyyy too busy to be held and cuddled so he'll have no part of it. But for about a week I got to snuggle with my boy and just try to make him feel better. Here is a picture of us from Tuesday, I stayed home with him just in case he was contagious.

Happy 4th of July
Well, I'm a bit late - as usual! But happy 4th of July! That was a fun weekend, Bryce came down for the weekend and we took him and Olivia up to Zion to do a little hiking... it was quite hot though but once we reached the upper pool on the hike the kids were able to play in the water and cool off while Chad and I sat in the shade and relaxed.
We let the kids light off a few fireworks and sparklers. Monday morning Bryce went home. We took Rex to the bunkerville park to meet up with some friends and watched the fireworks. He did really well even though he was super sleepy. When we got back home Gary and Olivia came over to light off the rest of their fireworks - one of them made a loud noise and that really scared Rex and he was done for the night, but it was super late anyhow.
The following weekend Penny & Luther drove up from Cali for a visit! It was great to see them and for them to meet our little dude. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend much time with them because we had a vacation planned! So the next day Jadon took his first trip on a plane (he did very well)!
We went to Paonia Colorado to visit Chad's side of the family. Chad parents went with us as well. It was really nice to see Bonnie, Terry, Cody, Brandi and the girls!! Paonia is a really small town but it was really pretty and cool. Chad and I enjoyed taking walks in the morning. You can walk anywhere you'd like in that town. Bonnie cooked a thanksgiving style dinner for all of us which was really nice of her. Cody and Brandi took us around to some of the local vineyards/wineries! That was really cool, we were able to sample wine at each of the places and we bought a bottle of each of our favorites and then they were so kind to send them back to us!! It's such a family friendly place there that we brought the babies with us to the vineyards and also to the little local brewery... pretty cool!
Last weekend there was a little going away party for Olivia, she is going to go stay with her mom for a year. We've gotten to know her really well and we're going to miss her. I hope she enjoys her time with her mom and family!!
Looking forward to next month and the month after Rex will be 1!! Yikes time is FLYING!!!

Lots of 1st
Well it's June and summer has arrived! Luckily the weather has been pretty nice though and we are still enjoying some days in the 90's.
This past month Jadon has been a busy boy! His 9 month check up went well. He's a little on the small side but is healthy and everything so no one is concerned. He's a little over 19lbs and he is 27.75 inches tall.
In the past month Rex has started to crawl like a big boy
Climb like Spider Man (notice the Spider man PJ's hehe)
Went on his first hike at Zion (last time he was still in my tummy)
Pull himself up and walk along the furniture
Wave Bye-Bye
Say dada
and he even has 2 little teeth!
He also got his 1st booboo - He crashed into the coffee table, it was quite sad but he really didn't cry too much.
It's really fun to watch him learn all these new things. He is usually such a happy little guy, he smiles and laughs all the time. Everyone just loves being around him. It's great to have him in our life. Time is just flying by, I can't believe he will be 1 in a couple of months!
Yesterday was fathers day. Rex and I got Chad a sword (he collects them) and we had a BBQ on Saturday then Sunday we took our parents up to St George for dinner. It was a nice weekend. But it went wayyyy too fast! I feel very blessed to have Chad as the father to our child. He is so great with him and loves him so much. Couldn't ask for a better daddy!
In just a couple of weeks we will be on our way to Colorado to visit Chad's side of the family. A lot of his family hasn't met Jadon yet so it will be fun. I've never been to the part of Colorado we are going to. It's a very small town but Cody and Brandi said there are vineyards there and lots of cool things to do so it will be nice and defiantly a welcomed break to the heat that will be here by then!
I hope everyone is doing well. We love you all!

Eventful month...
Well this past month has be busy and fun. It's great that it's spring time. I love it. Easter came around and we had some pictures done by our beautiful & talented friend Mariah! They are so cute even though Rex wasn't in the best mood and the sun kept getting in his eyes. We didn't have a big Easter celebration but we did have our parents over for a BBQ and the Easter Bunny brought Jadon a little basket full of toys and books and whatnot.
Mother's day came and went - My mom gave me a ring my dad gave to her on her 1st mothers day which was really sweet. Chad got us an ipod doc for the bathroom so we can listen to music while we get ready. Becky sent a really cute custom card with Jadon's picture on it and I got a few other cards as well.
Anyhow Jadon is getting really quick at his army crawl thing he has going on and is learning to pull himself up and he also babbles a bit more now... funny little dude. He makes us laugh a lot especially when he growls or laughs!
We took another road trip! We finally made our way up to SLC to see my family. Ivy's husband Jeff graduated with his master's degree, we're very proud of him! Ivy had setup a big surprise dinner party for him with all their family. Becky and Bryce came too and it was nice to spend time with them. It was so nice to FINALLY meet baby Kelsey (aka the cake). She and Jadon got along great - it was so cute to watch them play, even though Rex kept stealing the toys she was playing with lol. They even got to have a sleepover with LeeAnn (aka Honey) while Ivy, Jeff, Becky, Chad & I went out to a piano bar. While we were up north we wanted to do something we hadn't done before so we went up to Park City. Wow, what a beautiful place and the weather was just perfect! I'd really like to go back there and spend a few days sometime.
We also stopped by my aunt and uncles house so they could meet the little guy. He loved them so much, when aunt Margaret picked him up he gave her a smile and a big hug. It was very sweet. Little did we know this would be the last time we would see my uncle Bruce. He fell ill the following week and passed away one week a one day after our visit. We went back up to SLC for the funeral. It was hard, but we know he's in a better place without pain and suffering. RIP Uncle Bruce - we love you and will miss you.
