Wow...

So, wow. It's been way too long since I've made a post. I think I did half of one and never published it for Rex's birthday. Sorry kiddo...

So much has happened, I will try to remember it all and make it somewhat brief. So I'll hold back on the photos for now.

Lets see, in July my Mom, Rex and I went to SLC for Bryce's 16th birthday. It was really nice to be able to celebrate his birthday and spend a little time with everyone.

In late August Chad's dad had a heart attack, due to his age there isnt much they can do. So he's on meds and will just go on living the rest of his life the best he can from day to day. He is doing much better now though.

Rex's 2nd birthday was Yankee's themed. We had it at the bunkerville park/spashpad. All the kids had a great time and I think it was a success. Rex was spoiled as you can imagine, he even got a super cool car from the grandparents. He is doing so well, he's very smart and can comprehend so much! Now that its 2 months past his 2nd birthday he is really getting the hang of talking which is so much fun and really, quite handy. His checkup went really well and the Dr didn't have any concerns :)

Well, after Don's heart attack we decided we would need to take closer care of them and it would be best if we could all just move into one house. We were very, very lucky to find a place that works out for our situation. It was kind of stressful getting everything done in such a short amount of time but it worked. So now we are all living in 1 house, we have the upstairs which is 3 bedroom, 2 bath normal house and Sharon and Don have the downstairs which is 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment thing with a kitchenette. So far it's working out quite well. More on that in just a min...

Chad and I had planned a big Vegas getaway for our 10 year wedding, but with all the things happening and the money it cost we figured we would just have to scrap it. But somehow we ended up making it work with just a few adjustments and I think it actually turned out wonderful! We even got to stay at Enore which is somewhere we didnt think we'd ever have the chance to stay. We had a good time spending a couple days together. It was really nice. Chad is hands down the best husband. I couldn't imagine my life without him and I do not want to. Everyday that goes by I am more and more amazed with his strength to be the leader of our household and manage the responsibilities that he does. He's truly a man to look up to and I am so happy that our son has him as a father and role model. Life is hard sometimes but Chad and I stick together and make it through whatever we need to. I love you babe. Seriously, I can't find the words to ever express how much I love and admire you and I am so, so very thankful to have you as my husband and best friend.

... how do I follow up after that? Hmm... ok. Well, the move. We moved in around the middle of October, thank god for the help from Jenni and Jason. I don't know what we would've done otherwise! I wasn't much help, at all... The weekend we were moving in we wanted to do a bit of painting in Jadon's room and also one wall in our room. I was being an idiot and stood on a folding chair to dust the wall and fell off and busted my left wrist. So, that sucked.

This weekend we will be going to Richfield because my my grandpa Wally passed away. It's pretty sad, but it was his time. His health was failing and he wasn't himself anymore.

So, on a much lighter note - my period was late, we didn't think too much of it due to stress and whatnot. So Chad said lets wait until your 7 days late. So we did and to our surprise the test was positive! The last couple weeks have been pretty rough. Last week I was in the hospital 2 times. But things seem to be getting better. Our due date is June 30th. We've had a couple ultrasounds from the ER but we'll be getting the 1st scheduled ultrasound this Friday. We have a long way to go, but we are cautiously optimistic that Rexy will be a big brother this summer :)

Well - that's whats been going on. It's been quite the crazy past few months but things will work out. Oh yeah, we bought a minivan a week or 2 ago, it's making things much easier and it will definitely be convenient when the baby gets here!

Hope all is well in your worlds!!

No, we haven't fallen off the face of the planet

... I'm just slacking worse than normal!! Lots of time has passed and lots of things have happened... and I really don't have the best memory so I'll try not to forget too much!

Lets see, I think the MS Walk is the 1st thing. We don't have MS walks in Mesquite anymore so we decided we would go to the Vegas one. I was able to raise a pretty good amount (I think it was about $350) thanks to some great family and friends! Chad, my mom, Rex and I went down and stayed a couple nights in Vegas, it was a lot of fun and I'm glad I was able to go. Makes me emotional every time we are a part of it. It was really nice to just participate and enjoy the event (every other time we've been volunteers). I've been having some issues with my MS lately and I'm glad the NMSS is there, I might need them someday

Mother's Day! It's really quite awesome to be able to celebrate this holiday. This year I took my mom and Chad's mom out for manicures and pedicures then to a yummy lunch. It was  very nice and relaxing. Chad bought be a couple new pair of glasses, I needed them pretty badly!

Oh Rex also got to go to the Clark County Fair and then to Mesquite Days. He didn't ride any rides at the fair but he got to eat some fruit kabobs and watch a dog show and just run around. Jenni and Jason met up with us both places which is cool since Rex and Korben get along really well.

My Mom's birthday is June 13th, so the weekend before she and I had a girls day in St George. We went out to lunch, got her hair cut and then got her some new sunglasses. She recently had cataract surgery so now for the 1st time since she was a kid she doesn't have to wear glasses full time! So she now gets to wear sunglasses and stuff... Anyhow - for her birthday we had her and my Dad over for a BBQ. Chad and I made a cake - it ummm turned out pretty funny. The idea was cool - a 5 layer tiered chocolate cake - well... it sort of ended up looking like a chocolate beehive or something lol. But it tasted good so that's all that matters right?

Father's Day was only a few days after Mom's bday. We had both sets of grandparents over for what we refer to as "Sunday Dinner" - roast, mashed potatoes, my mom's yummmmy homemade rolls, and veggies. We got Chad a toolbox, he needed one badly so he was happy with that and Rex got him a Batman shirt :) It was a really nice Father's day. I love being able to have all of our parents around. Makes great memories.

Jason's 30th birthday was at the end of June and a few months ago they invited us to go to Vegas with them. So we had been planning to the trip for several weeks. It was the 1st time Jenni and Jason had been away from the kids overnight in a very long time so it was good for them. We went to a couple really good places to eat Grotto at Golden Nugget (that's also where we stayed) it's a great Italian restaurant and the service was awesome. The following night we went to Fleur which Chad had been wanting to go to for a very long time. It was excellent and pretty fun too - everything is served tapas style so everyone shares. We also went to the club at the Golden Nugget and checked out their cool pool. It was a good time. But it was good to come home to Rex, I missed that little dude!

So, my cousin Simi is engaged! She will be getting married mid August. It's coming up so fast! She's chosen me to be her maid of honor and I'm so excited and happy for her. My mom and I are throwing her a bridal shower on the 14th. I'm looking forward to it, I hope it turns out as cute and I see it in my head! lol.

I've also started thinking about Rex's bday! That's coming up reallllly soon too - it's crazy to think he's already going to be 2!! He's def not my little baby anymore. He's enjoying the summer time a lot - my parents got him a little picnic table for the patio and he enjoys having fruit out there on the mornings that my mom watches him. We also got him a little swimming pool so he can splash around in that. But now we finally have a key to our community pool so my mom takes him over there a couple times a week. He loves it! Such a fun kid. He's finally starting to pick up a few words, although he still only says what he wants when he wants. He's also figured out how to unscrew caps like from water bottles and whatnot. Oh and he recently figured out how to open the gate to the kitchen so now we have to latch it... He just keeps busy all the time running around and getting into stuff. Love, love, love that boy!!

Well... now that it's taken me FOREVER to get around to finishing this post it's July and we just celebrated the 4th. We went over to our friends Ryan and Amber's house. It was nice and laid back. We all had a good time. We got Rex some of those little paper things you throw at the ground that pop... he thought that was great! He was asleep before the fireworks though, but that's alright, he's still a bit young for sparklers and whatnot - next year he will probably enjoy it more.

Ok - I think that's all my updates as of now... I'll try not to procrastinate as badly next time! Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!!

Easter Weekend - Lots of photos!

So, a couple months ago we decided it would be nice to take our parents to Vegas for just a quick getaway to say thanks for all they do for us and Rex. Well, we booked the rooms and then figured out we had booked them for Easter... oh well, works for us!

Anyhow, Friday night Rex stayed with Grandma Sharon and Chad and I went out to see a movie - which is something we hadn't done in a VERY long time. We saw American Reunion. It was so funny!! Then we went out for a couple drinks... I had a couple too many haha... ooospie...

Saturday morning there was a big Easter Egg Hunt for the whole city. We figured Rex would LOVE it. And he did. He didn't really like having to wait till they said it was time to go for him to start gathering the eggs though! He wanted to grab them right away - he did really well and probably got at least a dozen. He didn't find any special eggs that give you a prize but he's still too young to really care about any of that anyhow.

After the egg hunt we went home and he took a nap... the Easter Bunny must have got the memo that we wouldn't be in town on Sunday so he dropped off Rex's gifts early. Since it was early he didn't have time to put the car together so Chad and I had to do that. Boy, that was a task! lol... I put some together and then Chad took it to the garage after we had a picnic in the front yard to finish it. Rex and I played with his new colored bubble blowing machine. Then when Daddy finished putting the police car together we pushed him around in it a bit. He doesn't really get how to use it yet though, but he liked to push it around and stuff.

Sunday morning we got up and ready and got our parents and piled into the cars and headed to Vegas. Our 1st stop was at Encore at Wynn. It's a very nice casino which also isn't smoky or dirty like some of them can be so we figured it would be a nice place for us to wander around while the grandparents gambled a little. He gets SOOO much attention wherever we go. He's always smiling at people, flirting with girls and blowing kisses. Such a charmer!!

Then we headed to our hotel, The Suncoast, for lunch and to check into our rooms. We had a light lunch at TGIFridays because we knew we would have a big supper at Cheesecake Factory later. Only one room was ready so we checked into it and put all the luggage in there and then the grandparents got to try their luck in the casino there and we took Rex to get icecream then to the arcade. Chad hit a "jackpot" and won 200 tickets. haha. Rex enjoyed trying to "stomp the ants" and "punch the duckies" and he watched the tokens go around the funnel thing. He ended up with over 300 tickets so he got a few little things.

There was a shopping area across the street from the hotel so we went to check it out, the grandpas stayed behind though, they didn't have any interest in doing window shopping. But they met up with us at Cheesecake Factory and we all had a really nice supper. We took a couple photos by a fountain while we waited for the Grandpas.

Monday morning we all met up for breakfast buffet since it was included in our hotel package. Then my mom, Chad and I took Rex down to the pool. He LOVED IT!! He was laughing and splashing and learning to kick his little legs and float. He's really going to be our water baby!

He didn't really want to leave the pool but we thought he really should have a nap - he didn't agree so we all just packed up and went over to South Point because we thought they had halava there for my mom. They didn't. But they did have a really cute little 50's style dinner we thought we'd check out. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with their food and milkshakes. After that we hit the road home. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and had a nice weekend away from home.

Hope you all had a fantastic Easter!!

March

Welcome Springtime!! Woohoo! Beautiful weather and lots of fun stuff to do!

March was a great month. Mariah was back in town for a couple months so we were able to get some photos taken. Chad and I even got in a few. She really takes lovely photos and she's so sweet we just love her!

Ivy and I have been talking about doing some sort of camping trip for months and a couple months ago we decided Moab would be the place. It was about a 4 hour trip for them and 5 for us and it was somewhere most of us hadn't ever been. We didn't know how the weather was going to be so we decided it would be best to get cabins. It was a super busy weekend so our choices were limited but we were able to get 2 small cabins next to each other. We are SOOO lucky we did. It was very, very windy the second day and night that we were there so having shelter was a great thing. We explored Moab and ate at a few yummy places and did a little bit of hiking at Arches national park. Unfortunately, do to the wind our hiking was cut short.

The kids had a great time playing in the dirt and putting rocks and dirt all over everything. We were able to find a park and let the kids run and play there too. We all had fun with that and there was even a T-Rex for Rex to sit on!

Since it was so windy the 2nd night we weren't able to sit outside so we put both kids in one cabin and then made a baby monitor out of our phones and played games and drank wine in the other cabin. It was so much fun. Great memories for sure. This summer we are going to try to make a trip to do some actual camping in tents and stuff :) cant wait!

On Sunday when we got home we went to my parents house for a late St Patty's Day supper. My mom had decorated and made corned beef and cabbage and carrots and potatoes as well as pistachio salad and a chocolate cake. Yum! Misty, Keith and the girls were there too. It was nice :) I only happened to take one photo of Rex with his Grandpa though. He looked really cute in the outfit Becky got him!

The last week of Mach was a little rough - we went to a birthday party and Rex got the stomach flu for the 1st time. So did about 5 other kids at that party. So sad. Rex recovered within about 24 hours and was back to his normal self. But, then I got the sickness and it took me a few days to shake it. Then Chad got it but he was like Jadon and was able to kick it in about a day - thank god we're all over that! Since I was sick Chad had to take Jadon to his 18 month appointment. He still isn't saying much at all but the dr didn't seem worried. He is smart and understands a lot and has his own was of communicating his needs. The only concern she had was his weight, he's only in the 14th percentile for weight but is in the 45th for height. I'm not too concerned with it though, Chad was very thin as a child as well so I think Rex is just taking after his daddy!

Rex continues to be the light of our lives. He is almost always smiling and laughing. He's very careful and kind. He LOVES his grandma's and his dog the most! He wakes up and says woof-woof and looks for Sadezz every morning. He's always petting her or sharing his snacks with her (even though we keep asking him not to lol). Since the weather has been nicer his grandma's have been able to take him for walks almost daily. He loves that. He just loves to be outdoors. If he thinks it's time to go outside he'll bring you a pair of shoes (surprisingly, most of the time he will find a matching pair). We take a walk up to feed the ducks and birds on the weekends when we can. He really enjoys throwing the bread to them. And I think his favorite thing right now is bubbles. You can blow bubbles for hours for that kid! He still is really into helping me clean, if we get out the vacuum he will help me push it around the house and he's still interested in using the little broom Jenni and Jason got him. He also helps dust and wipe off the coffee table. He's actually a pretty good little helper. We really couldn't ask for a better kiddo!

Happy St. Patty's Day from Moab!

Just an update

Nothing really exciting to report - we're just living our life. Days and weeks seem to just keep flying by at warp speed.

Rex is almost 18 months old! Mariah will be taking his photos next weekend. I'm really excited to get his pics done again. It's been a while. He looks so grown up lately. He's very opinionated but still so happy almost all of the time. He's recently become obsessed with the broom - we've had to put a lock on the closet because he's always wanting the broom or vacuum. So, we looked, and looked, and looked for a kid size broom for him but hadn't had any luck - well the other day we came home and there was one on the door step! Come to find out Jenni and Jason had searched for one for him because Chad had helped them with a PC. How cool was that?!? So now he's happy and spoiled. Speaking of him being spoiled his aunt Becky likes to send him gifts all the time too - she sent him his xmas gifts (a little late - but that's how we roll haha)

This past weekend was Chad's birthday and our 12 year get together anniversary. Seriously doesn't seem like it's been 12 years! I finally got him a new pair of sunglasses that he's been wanting for over a year. Anyhow - we went to Vegas for the weekend. It was so much fun. We got to see Melinda for lunch on Friday and then Saturday night we hung out with Tricia and Tim and his sister Megan and their friend. What great people we have in our lives - really! And then Sunday Chad took me to get a new purse before we went to Tricia and Tim's engagement part at Joe and Marleen's house. There was soooo much yummy food and again great people. Of course everyone kept asking "where's Jadon?!" We had left him home with my parents. Which he really enjoyed! He went out for breakfast and to the park and all sorts of fun stuff. He wasn't too happy when we got home, he was tired and didn't want grandma to go.

The next couple of months should be fun. Next month we're planning to go to Moab with Ivy, Jeff and the cake for a weekend. We've book a couple little cabins because it'll probably be too cold to sleep in tents with the kiddos. It looks beautiful there and we're really looking forward to that. Then in April we're planning on taking our parents to Vegas over night for a little get away for all the things they do for us. That should be interesting - we've never really done a family trip to Vegas. It'll be lots of fun though. Anyhow - I hope you are all well! I'll have to post some photos after we get them back from Mariah :)

Happy New Year!!

My oh my! I have got some serious catching up to do around here!

How about I do this in reverse? Sound good? Sure it does :)

Welcome to 2012! 2011 was a good year and I am looking forward to what this year holds.

Rex stayed the night with Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Don for New Years Eve. Sharon had asked to have him spend that night a couple of months ago so I think she was looking forward to it! Chad and I had a last min change in plans but it worked out WONDERFUL - we ended up bring in the new year in Vegas with Penny, Shannon, Luther, Cinnamon, Robert & their kiddos on the strip. It was so much fun!! There were soooo many people but everyone was in a great mood, we really didn't see any drama or anything crazy so it was nice. We even got to enjoy brunch the next day with Penny, Luther, Shannon, Elizabeth, Nic, Bowie, Ian and his girlfriend Desaray. They always find great places to go. We went to Todd English's PUB at Aria. It was really great food in great company. I'm so happy it worked out that we were able to spend time with the family. I really needed that and I hope we get to see them again soon.

A couple weeks ago we moved into a different place, it's a lot different and smaller, but it's also a lot cheaper so hopefully we can get our acts together and save some money and pay off some bills!! We didn't put up a tree since we were in the middle of the move so we spent Christmas with both of our parents at my parents house. It was really nice, I love having both of our parents so close. It's really great that our parents all get along and we can celebrate the holidays together so no one misses anything. Rex wasn't too interested in opening gifts - however the only one he did decide to open was for Misty and Keith - silly kid! He was more interested in taking items to his grandparents and saying "here". After we opened all the gifts and cleaned up we went home and took a nap then we went back to my parents for a nice dinner. It was a lovely, laid back holiday!!

I decided that Rex really needed a haircut before he went to see Santa. It's reallllly short and he looks so much more grown up. Kind of makes me a little sad. He's growing and learning more and more each day. I think (I hope) he may decide he wants to talk soon. So far he kind of says "here when he brings you stuff and he says "mooooore" when he wants food which is really quite cute. He also sort of says "hi" and one day he tried to say "banana". He's now tall enough to open doors and reach things on the counter and table which is CRAZY! He has a think about shutting all the doors though and if he sees any crumbs he will pick them up and bring them to you. I really love this age, he's so much fun and he really is such a good little dude. He's adjusted to the move pretty well, it took a couple days but now he's just fine.

Well that pretty much sums up December and a bit of what Rex is up to.

November was a nice month too! We kept pretty busy. The 1st part of the month I took my parents and Rex to spend the weekend with family in Cali. We stayed at Penny & Luther's place and had a wonderful time as always and we even got to meet Bowie! She's so dang cute. I was really glad we got to see her again for NYE since they are moving to Chicago and I'm not sure the next time we will see them again.

Thanksgiving was really nice. We wanted to host it at our place knowing we were moving to a smaller place so we don't know when we will have room to host a big get together again. It was fantastic. Our parents came over and so did Misty and Keith and the girls. All of the food was yummy and it was nice to have a small Thanksgiving. It was another laid back holiday. Oh we offered Rex some turkey but he didn't want any so he's sill my vegetarian baby hehe. As always we have SOOOO much to be thankful for and we really enjoy spending these time with our families. It's a good life we have :)

Well - I think that pretty much covers our update! I'm guessing this year will be a great one. I don't know exactly what to expect but I'm guessing there will be changes, all hopefully for the best! Everything always happens for a reason!

Love you all!!!
