Eventful month...

Well this past month has be busy and fun. It's great that it's spring time. I love it. Easter came around and we had some pictures done by our beautiful & talented friend Mariah! They are so cute even though Rex wasn't in the best mood and the sun kept getting in his eyes. We didn't have a big Easter celebration but we did have our parents over for a BBQ and the Easter Bunny brought Jadon a little basket full of toys and books and whatnot.

Mother's day came and went - My mom gave me a ring my dad gave to her on her 1st mothers day which was really sweet. Chad got us an ipod doc for the bathroom so we can listen to music while we get ready. Becky sent a really cute custom card with Jadon's picture on it and I got a few other cards as well.

Anyhow Jadon is getting really quick at his army crawl thing he has going on and is learning to pull himself up and he also babbles a bit more now... funny little dude. He makes us laugh a lot especially when he growls or laughs!

We took another road trip! We finally made our way up to SLC to see my family. Ivy's husband Jeff graduated with his master's degree, we're very proud of him! Ivy had setup a big surprise dinner party for him with all their family. Becky and Bryce came too and it was nice to spend time with them. It was so nice to FINALLY meet baby Kelsey (aka the cake). She and Jadon got along great - it was so cute to watch them play, even though Rex kept stealing the toys she was playing with lol. They even got to have a sleepover with LeeAnn (aka Honey) while Ivy, Jeff, Becky, Chad & I went out to a piano bar. While we were up north we wanted to do something we hadn't done before so we went up to Park City. Wow, what a beautiful place and the weather was just perfect! I'd really like to go back there and spend a few days sometime.

We also stopped by my aunt and uncles house so they could meet the little guy. He loved them so much, when aunt Margaret picked him up he gave her a smile and a big hug. It was very sweet. Little did we know this would be the last time we would see my uncle Bruce. He fell ill the following week and passed away one week a one day after our visit. We went back up to SLC for the funeral. It was hard, but we know he's in a better place without pain and suffering. RIP Uncle Bruce - we love you and will miss you.

It's already been another month?!?

Wow seems like I just posted that Jadon (aka Rex) was 6 months old and now another month has past! It's been a pretty busy month.

Jadon has learned the "army crawl" its pretty funny, he grunts and groans but gets wherever he wants to go pretty quickly. He's also started to growl, seriously! He growls, and it's hilarious! We have a pretty amusing baby!

We also took our 1st road trip as a family! I was a bit nervous but everything went really well. We went to Az, we stayed in Chandler which was a very cool town with lots of cool places to eat. We checked out Scottsdale as we had heard so many things, it was ok. We went to the Phoenix Zoo - that was very fun. We also went to Sedona, which was very interesting and relaxing place. And the last night we stayed in Flagstaff - which was ehhh...

Staying in a hotel for 4 nights was really different but we thankfully the only thing we forgot was swimsuits! Sooo... not the biggest deal but I couldn't find a new one for myself or little Rex so no swimming for us but we were busy enough.

Jadon has been eating very well, he enjoys everything we let him try, he even likes to lick lemons! That's my boy! Well, we did let him try guacamole and he wasnt too fond of that, maybe we'll try that one again sometime.

Well... that's our quick monthly update. I need to add pics and maybe even figure out how to post video so everyone can see how he tries to crawl and growl!

Hope all is well in your worlds!

Half Year!

Half of a year has already passed since Jadon was born! Wow!! It's amazing how much he has grown and learned in such a short amount of time. Very cool to watch.

We took him to the Dr last Thursday. He is 16lbs 12oz and 26.5 inches tall. Which is within normal range. The Dr said his head is looking better and all around he looks healthy! What more can we ask for?

He is a pro at sitting up now, he can grab toys (or whatever else he wants, like my shoes!) and move them from hand to hand, he laughs and it sooooo funny - Chad said he sounds like white noise it's silly. We go on walks/jogs about 5 times a week, he loves to go - he'll look all around and just hang out and enjoy the fresh air. He's also been trying new foods, so far he's tried peas, carrots and sweet potatoes. He loves them all! Such a good little eater we have. I hope it stays this way.

Rex is our happy little baby... he smiles and laughs for everyone. He especially loves his daddy though! They have quite the bond between them, it's really special and it warms my heart to see them interact. He of course thinks all his grandparents are great as well, they doddle over him and shower him with love and millions of kisses. What a life!

A few weeks ago Cody and Brandi came down and we were able to meet Aspyn! She's so cute, it sucks they live so far away now. Jordyn is getting big and they all look great and very happy. Jadon likes Aspyn, he tried to grab at her and they were talking - makes you wonder what they are thinking about. Hopefully this summer we can take a break from the heat and make a trip out to visit them.

Well that's all for now! Hope you all are well! Spring is nearly here!! YAY!!! Love you all!

5 months!

Ok - I know I keep saying I will get better at keeping up with this blog but it seems like I keep getting worse!

Jadon is now 5 months old!! He is such a funny little dude. Over the past month he has started eating cereal, learned to roll from his back to tummy (he kind of gets his arm stuck though) and he can almost sit up on his own! Such an amazing process to watch him grow and learn. He likes to "talk" and giggle. He really likes to reach for my phone, lucky for him I just got a new phone so he will be able to push the buttons and play with the old one.

Both sets of grandparents really enjoy the time they get to spend with Jadon which really makes it nice. He loves his grandparents too - he just lights up when he sees any of them. Such a cutie!

I recently bought a jogging stroller and we have gone out a couple times with it so far and he seems to like it, in fact he has fallen asleep both times. I lost all the weight I gained while pregnant a while ago and lost some beyond that but I would really like to get into better shape and live a healthy lifestyle, it'll be good for me and for Jadon too. Chad has been eating more vegetarian foods which is pretty cool. I enjoy having yummy home cooked meals with him. He still enjoys meat and animal products and has no intention to give them up which is fine so I think he really enjoys when we do go out to eat haha.

Well, that's all the updates I can think of for the moment. The upcoming weeks are going to be busy. Cody, Brandi, Jordyn & Aspyn will be here next week (very excited to meet Aspyn and see them!) Chad's birthday and our anniversary is also this month. We are going to Vegas overnight and I have something pretty fun planned - I hope Chad enjoys it.

Hope all is well for everyone. Love you all!

4 months!

Well it's be 4 months since Jadon arrived!

Chad has been really busy with work so my mom went with me to his 4 month check up and shots. He was such a good boy. He's 14lbs 13oz and 25.2inches long which puts him in the 50% for weight and I think 67th% for height.

Dr. Smith said he is growing and learning just like he should. The only issue is that he really favors laying on his right side which has caused him to have a rather flat head. Lately though he has been a little better about laying on his left side and now that he is able to be in his bouncy seat and highchair and enjoys tummy time a little more he is spending less time on his back which should help. We really hope it does help if not then in a few months he will have to be sent to a specialist and be fitted for a helmet... so lay on the other side kid!

She also said that he can start eating rice cereal anytime now so we're going to get him some and try it out. He babbles and likes to sit or stand, he can hold his own weight up for a while standing and he really like that. He likes to cry before he goes to sleep now which isn't so nice but it doesn't usually last too long. And he still likes to rub the left side of his head when he's sleepy which has made his hair kind of thin over there (poor child's head!)... he is so cute and loving. I think his Daddy is his favorite person right now - he just lights up when he sees or hears him, it's very cute. And he really likes it when Daddy makes him clap his little hands - he lets out some really big laughs so funny.

Anyhow, that's his 4 month update! Can't hardly believe it's going by so fast. I'm really happy he is so healthy and such a good little boy!

Love you all!

2010

Wow what an amazing year it's been! I must say it's been one of the best of my life. Our year in a nutshell - We have our health, we have our families, we have our friends, we have our jobs... we have eachother - we have our beautiful baby boy!

Chad and I have been very fortunate this year in the way of our health. After a couple years of struggling for both of us this year we got a break!

My parents moved 250 miles closer to us! Unfortunately Chad's brother and sister in law moved like 400 miles away from us. But we have our families. This year we didn't lose any family members - in fact we gained several! We of course gained our son. Cody and Brandi welcomed Aspyn. Ivy and Jeff had baby Kelsey. And Elizabeth and Nic brought baby Bowie into the world! On top of that some of Chad's family found him on facebook! Pretty big family expansion this year!

We have found out who our true friends are this year. They have been there for us and love us. We are thankful and love them as well. A lot of our friends also had babies this year which is really cool too!

Chad and I also have our jobs, which in this economy more than ever we must be thankful! Our jobs provide food on the table, a roof over our heads, heat in the winter and relief from heat in the summer, diapers and all the other baby necessities and also quite a few extras in our lives.

2010 marks our 10 year anniversary of being together and 8 years of marriage. This year was really nice for us as a couple - we've grown closer and have experienced so many things together. I love Chad and I'm so happy he is the father of my son - he is a wonderful daddy and Jadon loves him so much!

Mostly this year was awesome because it started off (Jan 6th to be exact) with the knowledge of our pregnancy and then the welcoming of our heats desire! How much more of a dream come true could Jadon be? He really completes life. What an amazing gift being a parent is. I know there will be challenges but that's ok, it's worth it. Every day he wakes up healthy and happy we are blessed!

I hope everyone else has had a wonderful year as well and if not then I hope 2011 brings you better days!

Cheers to 2011! Goodbye 2010 - you will be remembered!

Jadon's 1st Christmas!

Happy Holidays!

We had a lovely Christmas this year. It was so great to have our little bundle of joy to share it with. Really made me feel complete.

We have a HUGE tree in the foyer thanks to my aunt Georgia, it's too large for the house she has now so she gave it to us. It's pretty cool to have a tree that's been in the family and I can remember it being up at her old house. I would like to get a real tree but finding a 9ft tree could be a little crazy and not to mention quite expensive. So we'll stick to the fake one for now. Other than the tree we didn't do much in the way of decorations, just the polar bear outside the door and some garland and a few things around the mantle.

For Christmas Eve we had dinner Gary and Emily and their kiddos which was fun. Christmas morning we had our parents over for breakfast and to open gifts. Jadon sure was spoiled! He got so many nice things, so sweet of everyone to think of him on his 1st Christmas! He wasn't too into the opening of gifts - but at 4 months we didn't really expect him to be. He did help open the 1st couple though he tried to eat the ribbon and then he held on to the paper while I ripped it off, and then about 15 min into present time he decided it was nap time so we just hurried as fast as we could.

Chad and I really don't take for granted spending holidays with our families. It's really special and we enjoy it. This was the 1st year in the past several that we were able to have both my parents and his all together. I'm really happy we all live so close together. We miss our families and friends who we didn't get to spend the holidays with. They were in our thoughts though!

Anyhow - I'm sure everyone wants to see pics but we used the video camera and ended up with not very many pics on the normal camera! I'll have to add what we do have later though.

I hope everyone has had a great Christmas!

Love you all!
